Isle of Lewis Chessmen Set of full size handmade replicas. 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) tall. Approximate weight 3.7 pounds (1.7 kg).

They come in Dark Red & Ivory, you may ask for Black & Ivory or Black & White (or any other colors) as per request. The Chessmen are full size reproductions. The King is approximately 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) tall, and all the pieces in this set are full size reproductions. Made of hard and durable heavy casting plaster, they have a heavy and solid feel, handsome and made to last. The bottoms of the pieces are covered with a durable felt, to improve the feel during play and protect the chessboard.

Set includes 32 pieces, two different Rooks for each set including the (very hard to find "Berserkers"), Kings, Queens, Bishops, Pawns and Knights. A beautiful Chess Set that will become a family heirloom handed down from generation to generation. The Isle of Lewis Chessmen are the most interesting Chessmen in the world with their elaborately carvings in the form of seated kings and queens, bishops, knights on their mounts, standing warders and pawns in the shape of obelisks. From start to finish my sets are hand crafted with attention to detail. Each time I make a set I never know were its going, could be a stranger, family or the closest of friends.

I take a lot of time and pride in my work, anyone who owns a set of Chessmen I created will tell you the same. There is no other set on the market today that shows better craftsmanship than the sets I make. The entire set weighs approximately. 3.7 pounds (1.7 kg). There is a dimple on the left side of the queen, this is a detail! It can be filled out as per request. No chessboard is included in this set. It is recommended that these pieces be played on a board of 2 to 2.5 inch squares. Please allow for little difference in coloring (from pictures) and measurements, and they are hand made and colored.
